What happens when you bring us something to fix.
Version 1.0 · Last updated 14 October 2026
We diagnose first and quote before doing anything. We will tell you what we think is wrong and what we think it will cost to put right.
No repair begins until you have agreed to the quote. If we find something different once we are in, we stop and ask before spending more.
A quotation is a genuine estimate based on what we can see. Where a fault turns out to be bigger than it looked, we will not go ahead without telling you.
We will tell you how long we expect the work to take when we quote. We are not always able to keep to that estimate — if we cannot, we will tell you rather than let you wait.
You can call at any time to ask about the status of a repair.
Please back up anything you cannot afford to lose before handing us a device. We will not deliberately erase your data, but repairs — particularly those involving the drive or the motherboard — can make data unrecoverable.
If a device will not switch on, or is making unusual noises, do not keep using it. Every further attempt may reduce the chance of recovering what is on it.
We assess data recovery honestly. Recovery depends on how a drive has failed and how much has been written over it. We cannot guarantee that data can be recovered, and we will not take a device on in the hope of a miracle without telling you the odds first.
Where recovery is not possible, we will tell you rather than charge you for time spent finding that out.
Networking and CCTV work is normally carried out at your premises. We will agree a time and a scope with you before we attend, so we are not turning up to do work you have not agreed to.
You must ensure that an adult is present who can give access, and that power and connectivity are available.
If we cannot reach you about a repair, we will hold the device and keep trying to contact you. Please collect it as soon as you can.
We will not dispose of a device without telling you in writing and giving you a reasonable opportunity to collect it. Where you ask us to dispose of it, we will confirm that in writing.
We take reasonable care of every device in our workshop. We are not liable for pre-existing damage, for damage that was present before the device reached us, or for consequential loss such as lost time.
Where our work causes damage, we will put it right at our cost. Tell us as soon as you notice.
For networks, servers and CCTV we offer ongoing support, including service level agreements with agreed response times. Those are separate from a one-off repair, and the response times are set out in the agreement rather than here.
